Obituary for Vida R. Yopp

Mrs. Vida R. (Wheeler) Yopp, 85, of New Britain, Ct. passed away Monday January 28, 2013 at the Hospital of Central Ct. @ New Britain General. Vida was born in Chipley, Florida and was the daughter of the late Frank and Bertha (Benjamin) Wheeler. She worked as a Nurse’s Aide at New Britain Memorial Hospital for several years. Vida liked gardening, watching Serena and Venus Williams play tennis, UCONN Huskies Women and boxing. She was also a devoted Jehovah Witness.
Vida is survived by her beloved husband, Benjamin F. Yopp, of New Britain, Ct., her daughter, Jeannette Bradley and her husband Kenneth, her three sons, Dale, Melvin and Shawn Yopp, her step-son, David Yopp, her three step-daughters, Christine Evans, Delores Davis and Joanne Howze, her four brothers, Melvin Wheeler and his wife Gina, Ben, Gerald and James Wheeler, her four sisters, Mrs. Teola Harris and her husband John, Adel Scott, Rosalee Hargrove and Addie Cline and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Vida was predeceased by her daughter Sylvia Baker, her two step-daughters, Aquila Levine and Cynthia Cheatham, her two sisters, Marie Davis and Charlotte Wheeler and her brother Raymond Wheeler.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Graveside Service for Vida Thursday January 31, 2013 at 1 p.m. at Fairview Cemetery, 120 Smalley Street, New Britain, Ct. There are no calling hours.
