Condolence: To Nicole & Family, I was truly shocked and deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Leo. I went to high school with his daughter, Nicole who I played in band and jazz band with. I can vividly recall seeing Leo at almost every performance whether it was a parade or concert. He always had this wide smile that just beamed...he was always so proud of Nicole and her accomplishments and performances. He seemed like he loved life and was incredibly warm hearted. As a matter of fact, my father (Todd) went to school with his wife, Suzy and also new Leo when they lived in New Britain. He recalled Leo as "a guy you never wanted to pick a fight with" because of his muscular appearance. He explained that looks were deceiving with Leo because he was such a kind and laid back person who everyone just loved. He will be truly missed and my family and I send our deepest condolences to Nicole, Suzy and the entire family.

Condolence: I woke up this morning to this heartbreaking news about a fellow 1978 Pulaski High classmate. We shared classes together in high school (special memories in Mr. Liskow's 10th grade English class) along with others throughout the 3 years we were at Pulaski. Leo was always a genuine friend that never judged a person (even if they were in a full body brace). He never made me feel like I had a condition (scoliosis), just that he enjoyed my company. I had recently conversed with him in our email accounts as he was planning to see my husband's band perform soon. I will always remember his kind heart and will miss him when we have future reunions. May he be at peace in God's house and we will hopefully all be together again someday. <3 Chris Nestor Roccapriore

Condolence: My deepest sympathy is extended to all of Leo’s family. Leo was my “go-to guy” when I was coaching youth soccer and running a Cub Scout Den. Whenever I asked him to lend a hand, his answer was always the same: "Whatever you need, Mr. Bill." Whether it was running drills in practice, organizing camp outs, leading a hike, or driving to our numerous sleepovers at hockey games, baseball games, or old ships, Leo approached each task with a winning positive attitude. He never wanted any special recognition for all he did. All he cared about was that "the boys have fun and learn something." I shall miss the man I knew greatly.
