Condolence: My sincerest condolences to the family of Gary Oakes. I have many great memories of Gary from Goodwin Tech (Class of 1969) and Him playing the Bagpipes in my backyard. It sure brought out the neighbors to hear the fine music. Also lets not forget the late nights visits. They were a blast. The only thing bigger then Gray was his heart. RIP Gray

Condolence: I grew up in Pinnacle Hights with Gary. My mother (Barbara Post) grew up with his mother Agnes. Gary and I reconnected a few years ago before I moved to AZ via Facebook. He had a great memory when it came to our childhood days. Talking with him brought back so many fond memories and names that I had sadly forgotten. And for that I will always be grateful to him.
I am so sorry for your loss. My thoughts and prayers are with you. May he rest in peace.

Auld Lang Syne
SHOULD auld acquaintance be forgot,
And never brought to min'?
Should auld acquaintance be forgot,
And days o' lang syne?
We twa hae rin about the braes, 5
And pu'd the gowans fine;
But we've wander'd monie a weary fit
Sin' auld lang syne.
We twa hae paidl't i' the burn,
Frae mornin' sun till dine; 10
But seas between us braid hae roar'd
Sin' auld lang syne.
And here 's a hand, my trusty fiere,
And gie's a hand o' thine;
And we'll tak a right guid-willie waught 15
For auld lang syne.
And surely ye'll be your pint-stowp,
And surely I'll be mine;
And we'll tak a cup o' kindness yet
For auld lang syne! 20
For auld lang syne, my dear,
For auld lang syne,
We'll tak a cup o' kindness yet
For auld lang syne.

Condolence: To the Oakes family. My condolences on your loss. We lived on Summit Road next door to you back in the mid 60's. I recall Gary being active in Civil Air Patrol, as was I, prior to my joining the USAF in '65. Several years ago Gary had sent me an e-mail and had updated me on some things and old memories. He even had sent me pictures of Pinnacle Heights before they were demolished.
