Obituary for Rev. James E. Foxworth Sr.

Rev. James E. Foxworth, Sr., 87, of New Britain, CT. entered into eternal rest surrounded by his loving family and friends Friday December 19, 2014 at St. Francis Hospital, Hartford, CT. James was born in Marion, S.C. and was the son of the late David and Maggie (Williams) Foxworth. He worked as a Tool and Die Maker for North&Judd for several years. He was past Commissioner of Persons with Disabilities Council, Rev. Foxworth was a member of New Bethel F.B.H. Church, New Britain, CT. Rev. Foxworth also served as pastor for St. Michael’s F.B.H. Church, Waterbury, CT. and St. Rachel F.B.H. Church, Springfield, MA. He was a member of the Board of Directors for the HRA. Rev. Foxworth graduated from Marion County Training School and was very active in OIC.
Rev. Foxworth is survived by his three daughters – Loretta Foxworth and her husband Robert Browne, Delores A. Foxworth and Rosalind Mitchell all of New Britain, CT, his brother Jackson W. Foxworth and his wife Bertha Mae of Marion, S.C., his three sisters – Rachel Wilson, Evelyn Meares and her husband Pernell and Mary E. Jackson all of Marion, S.C., five grandchildren – Redora, Janice, Andre, Lonnie and Irene, nine great grandchildren – Andre, Antonio, Robert, Aneesa, Khalil, Maci, Ke’Andre, Emma and Nafissa, two sisters-in-law Lola Bell Foxworth and Cora Foxworth and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Rev. Foxworth was predeceased by his wife Emma Foxworth and his son James Foxworth, Jr., four brothers and two sisters.
Homegoing Celebration for Rev. Foxworth will be held Monday December 29, 2014 at 11a.m. at Bethesda Apostolic Church, 249 Stanley St. New Britain, CT. Committal Service and final resting place will be in Fairview Cemetery, 120 Smalley St. New Britain, CT. Relatives and friends may call at Bethesda Apostolic Church Monday from 10-11a.m. Flowers will be accepted from 8:30-10:00a.m. at the church. Service of comfort provided by the Paul A.
