Obituary for Jean C. Nelson

Jean C. (LaSalle) Nelson, 80, of Plainville, CT. formerly of Auburn, Grafton and Worcester, MA. died Tuesday March 24, 2015 at the Hospital of Central CT @New Britain General. Jean was born in Worcester, MA. and was the daughter of the late Waldemar B. and Elsa C. (Carlson) LaSalle. Jean graduated from Grafton High School class of 1952 and after graduation she held many jobs in insurance, catering, artwork and writing a monthly feature article in “Potpourri”. She also was an Avon Representative for thirty years, a member of the Plainville Economic Development Committee, a member of Our Lady of Mercy Church, Plainville, CT. and the Republican Town Committee and served as registrar for political town and national elections for many years.
Jean is survived by her son Stephen F. Nelson of Plainville, CT., her brother James G. Kane of Somerville, MA. and her sister Anna Marie Kane, SSJ of Worcester, MA. and several cousins. Jean was predeceased by her husband Frederick H. Nelson, her brother Waldermar LaSalle, II., her step-mother Daisy LaSalle and step-father Walter J. Kane. A Celebration of Jean’s life will be held Tuesday March 31, 2015 at 10a.m. at Our Lady of Mercy Church, 94 Broad St. Plainville, CT. Burial will be at the convenience of the family in Moreland Cemetery, Paxton, MA. Service of comfort provided by the Paul A. Shaker Funeral Home, 764 Farmington Ave. New Britain, CT.
