David Yopp, 70, of New Britain, CT. died Thursday June 18, 2015 at Newington Rapid Recovery Rehab Center. David was born in New Britain, CT. and was the son of Catherine Greene and the late Benjamin Yopp. He worked for Fafnir Bearing for several years. David served his country honorably during the Vietnam War in the United States Army.
David is survived by his daughter Melissa Yopp, his six brothers – Melvin, Dale and Shawn Yopp, Damian LaBreck, Richard Allen and Wayne Allen all of New Britain, CT., five sisters – Christine Evans of Charlotte, N.C., Dolores Yopp and Jeannette Bradley both of New Britain, CT., Joan Howze of Charlotte, N.C. and Deborah LaSalle of Middletown, CT., his special companion Lydia Fawcett of New Britain, CT., his two grandchildren, his two great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral Rites for David will be held Thursday June 25, 2015 at 11a.m. from the Paul A. Shaker Funeral Home, 764 Farmington Ave., New Britain, CT., with the Rev. Mona McKenzie, presiding. Burial with full military honors will be in the Veterans Section of Fairview Cemetery, 120 Smalley St. New Britain, CT. The American Flag will be presented to David’s daughter Melissa.
