Salvatore “Tootie” Fazzina, 87, of Plainville, CT. died Saturday, September 12, 2015 at The Hospital of Central CT @ New Britain General. “Tootie” was born in Southington, CT and was the son of the late George and Josephine (Amenta) Fazzina. He worked as a plasterer for American Plasters for several years. Salvatore served his country honorably in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was also a member of the Elks Lodge #957, New Britain, CT.
Salvatore is survived by his brother George Fazzina of New Britain, CT., several nieces and nephews including Chris Fazzina and his wife Diane, John Fazzina and his wife Tara and Dave Fazzina, his great nephew Stephen Fazzina, three great nieces Guiliana, Sebastiana and Rebecca Fazzina, his three step-nephews Peter Lawrence of Middletown, CT., Richie Lawrence, and Mark Lawrence of Vermont, his three close friends Ronnie Noveck and his wife Sonya, Debbie Silvia, Chet Yaskolka and Bobby McCann. Salvatore was predeceased by his three brothers Paul, Carmen and Sebastian Fazzina and his great niece Melissa Fazzina.
Relatives and friends may call at the Paul A. Shaker Funeral Home, 764 Farmington Ave., New Britain, CT. Thursday, September 17, 2015 from 5 to 7 p.m. Directions to funeral home - I-84 east or west - exit 37 (Fienemann Rd) right off exit, one mile down on right. Funeral services and burial will be private. Military honors for Mr. Fazzina will be accorded Thursday at 6:45 p.m. at the funeral home. The American flag will be presented to Mr. Fazzina’s nephew, Chris.
