Obituary for Lois J. Vallario

Lois M. (Ferguson) Vallario, 90, of West Hartford, CT departed this life on Friday, October 9, 2015. Lois was born in Reserve, Louisiana in 1925 to her parents, Marie Eugenie Fourroux and James Jacob. After meeting the love of her life William J. Ferguson at a U.S.O. dance in New Orleans, Lois married and moved to Connecticut to raise a beautiful family of her own. Lois was predeceased by William in 1970 and also her second husband Peter D. Vallario in 2009. Her friend and companion Jerry Zales passed in 2014. Lois leaves her five children, Wayne, Kevin, Ronald, Susan, Jane and their spouses along with two stepchildren, Daniel and Ronald and their spouses. Her stepdaughter Barbara and husband Paul predeceased her as well. Lois also leaves her sister Sybil Stoulig and her brother Bryan Jacob of River Ridge Louisiana, and a brother Mervyn Jacob of Houston, Texas and many cousins, nieces and nephews. Lois adored her sixteen grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Every one of them heard her signature song "You are my sunshine" when she rocked them as babies. Lois was a creative lady. She passed her time by creating handmade dolls some of them winning Blue ribbons at local fairs. She loved tending to gorgeous gardens in her yard and was also an accomplished golfer having won a tournament or two in her day. We all love you. We all miss you.

Funeral Rites for Lois will be held Wednesday October 14, 2015 with the procession departing at 9:15a.m. from the Paul A. Shaker Funeral Home, 764 Farmington Ave. New Britain, CT. followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10a.m. at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 1755 Stanley St. New Britain, CT. Committal Service and final resting place will be in St. Mary Cemetery, 1141 Stanley St. New Britain, CT. Relatives and friends may call at the Paul A. Shaker Funeral Home Wednesday from 8:15a.m. – 9:15a.m. Directions to funeral home – I-84 East or West – Exit 37 (Fienemann Rd) right off exit – one mile down on the right.
