Helen (Skoczulek) Zaniewski, 90, of New Britain, CT passed away peacefully Monday, June 6, 2016 at her home. Helen was the wife of the late Frank T. Zaniewski. Helen was born and grew up in New Britain, CT and graduated from NBHS in 1944. She was the daughter of the late Agnes and Joseph Skoczulek. Helen was a very proud family woman who was deeply loved and admired by family and friends. She had a passion for playing cards, bingo and constructing jigsaw puzzles. Spending time with family and cooking were her favorite pastimes. Helen will always be remembered by her strength and courage and her dedication to her family.
Helen is survived by her sister Nellie Domurat, her daughters Judy Zaniewski-Carmody and her husband Kevin Carmody of Nararragansett, Linda Rosado and her husband Efrain Rosado of New Britain, CT and her son Kenneth Zaniewski and his wife Jean Zaniewski of Sharon, MA. She also leaves her beloved grandchildren Lucas Rosado and his wife Elizabeth, Stacey Rosado, Eric Zaniewski, Ilka Zaniewski and Alice Zaniewski. Helen was predeceased by two sisters, Mary Frati and Florence Agostinucci.
The family would like to acknowledge with a special “thank you” to Sabina Studniarska, her caretaker for over two years. Her dedication and compassion will be remembered always. They would also like to thank the staff at Hartford HealthCare at Home and Euro Home Care for everything they do daily, not only for us but for everyone.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Helen’s Life Monday, June 13, 2016 at 10 a.m. at Holy Cross Church, Farmington Ave., New Britain, CT. Burial will be private in Sacred Heart Cemetery, New Britain, CT. There are no calling hours.
