Obituary for Calvin R. Wilson

Calvin R.  Wilson
Calvin Rashard Wilson, 32, of New Britain, CT departed this life Sunday, November 27, 2016. Calvin was born in New Britain, CT and was the son of Joaquina A. Brown and Calvin Wilson on November 29, 1983. He attended New Britain Public School, New Britain High School for 2 years before enrolling in Saint Thomas More High School, graduating in 2002. He continued his education by enrolling in Mitchell College, New London, Connecticut for two years. He then attended Brandford Hall for one year. Calvin enjoyed sports, playing football for NBHS Hurricanes for two years. Prior to attending NBHS, Calvin played for the New Britain PAL Football League. He also played for Walicki Little League. His favorite football team was the Washington Redskins. He joined Spottswood A.M.E. Zion Church at an early age and attended Sunday School regularly. He enjoyed video games and then spending time with his family.
In addition to his parents he leaves to mourn his passing his two sons, Chelston Wilson and Darius Wilson; his daughter Jailyce Wilson; his Nana, Gerri Brown-Springer; Great Grandmother Velma Brown; his sister Eboni Hibbert; his brother Adrian Jones; godsister Tia Marie Alves; former wife and mother of Chelston, Elizabeth Diaz Wilson, and host of cousins , aunts, uncles and many friends. Calvin was predeceased by his son Dimetreus Wilson, grandfathers Richard "SNAKE" Brown and George C. Springer, his paternal grandparents Addist and Clarence Wilson.
Homegoing celebration for Calvin will be held Saturday, December 3, 2016 at 11 a.m. at Spottswood A.M.E. Zion Church, 25 Crestwood Lane, New Britain, CT with the Rev. Jacqueline King, Pastor, presiding. Committal service and final resting place will be in Fairview Cemetery, 120 Smalley St., New Britain, CT. Relatives and friends may call at Spottswood A.M.E. Zion Church Saturday from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Service of comfort provided by the Paul A. Shaker Funeral Home, 764 Farmington Ave., New Britain, CT.
