Dorothy P. Costa, 72, of New Britain, CT died Sunday, January 15, 2017 at Newington Rapid Recovery and Rehab Center. Dorothy was born in New London, CT and was the daughter of the late Nelson and Lillian (Benedict) Millard. She worked for Dattco for thirty-five years and made many friendships over the years who were like family to her.
Dorothy is survived by her three daughters Gisella Yonan and her husband Ninef of New Britain, CT, Kim Mallegol and her companion James Pollack of New Britain, CT, and Maria Napolitano and her husband Patrick of Plymouth, CT her two sons Frank Costa of New Britain, Ct and Vincent Costa and his wife Diane of Berlin, CT, her two brothers Joseph Millard of North Carolina And Nelson Millard of North Carolina and her sister Francine Kotzurt of South Carolina and many loving grandchildren and great grandchildren who adored her. Dorothy was predeceased by her husband Francesco Costa, her two brothers Raymond Millard and Terry Tot and her sister Joanna Clines.
Funeral rites for Dorothy will be held Saturday, January 21, 2017 at 8:30 a.m. with the procession departing at 9:00 a.m. from the Paul A. Shaker Funeral Home, 764 Farmington Ave., New Britain, CT. Followed by a Liturgy of Christian burial at 10 a.m. at St. Ann Church, 101 North St., New Britain, CT. Burial will be private in St. Mary Cemetery, New Britain, CT. Relatives and friends may call at the Paul A. Shaker Funeral Home Friday from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Directions to funeral home – I-84 east or west, exit 37 (Fienemann Rd) right off exit, one mile down on right.
