Jo-Ann (Melescinski) LaRosa, 66, of Wales MA, passed away peacefully Thursday, February 2, 2017 at Bay State Wing Hospital, Palmer, MA. Jo-Ann was born in New Britain, CT and was the daughter of the late Joseph and Anne (Rooney) Melescinski. She was an active part of her small community. Jo-Ann loved going to the senior center to visit with friends. She was an avid pool and card player and enjoyed playing in local tournaments. Jo-Ann and Carl loved to travel, usually taking month long vacations visiting friends and family throughout the United States.
Jo-Ann is survived by her beloved husband of thirty years, Carl LaRosa of Wales, MA, her three daughters, Kristel Nuzzo and her husband Ron, Kortney and her husband Stephen all of Middletown CT. Stacey Boulaine of Peoria AZ. her son Nicholas LaRosa and his wife Aubrey of Peoria AZ, her eight grandchildren who were the loves of her life. Zoe and Tia Nuzzo, Amanda and Stephen Nackowski, Corrado and Romello LaRosa, Anthony and Aiden Boulaine. Her great grandchildren Aubrella and Elijah Boulaine. Her sisters Karen Wescott and Donna and Dr. Robert Grybowski both of Farmington CT. several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Jo-Ann was predeceased by her best friend and uncle Donald Rooney and her brother David Melescinski.
Funeral rites for Jo-Ann will be held Thursday, February 9, 2017 at 8:30 a.m. with the procession departing at 9 a.m. from the Paul A. Shaker Funeral Home, 764 Farmington Ave., New Britain, CT. followed by a Liturgy of Christian burial at 10 a.m. at St. Ann Church, 101 North St., New Britain, CT. Committal service and final resting place will be in St. Mary Cemetery, 1141 Stanley St., New Britain, CT. Relatives and friends may call at the Paul A. Shaker Funeral Home, Wednesday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Directions to funeral home – I-84 east or west, exit 37 (Fienemann Rd) right off exit – one mile down on right.
