Lorraine (Pernal) Ringwood, 75, of New Britain, CT went home to the Lord Sunday, June 4, 2017. Lorraine was the daughter of the late Walter and Lucy (Rzewnicki) Pernal. After graduating from New Britain High School, she pursued a degree in Music Education at Danbury State Teacher's College. Lorraine worked as a school music teacher in New Britain, first at Elihu Burritt Elementary School, and then for forty years at Holy Cross School/Pope John Paul II School. In her spare time, Lorraine enjoyed reading, and taking trips to Lake George, NY and Wells, Maine with her family.
Lorraine is survived by her beloved husband of fifty-one years, Richard J. Ringwood of New Britain, CT, her two sons - Alan and his wife Laura Ringwood of Austin, Texas and Daniel Ringwood of New Britain, CT and her three grandchildren, Anna, Jeremy and Elizabeth, of Austin, Texas.
Funeral rites for Lorraine will be held Saturday, June 10, 2017 at 10 a.m. from the Paul A. Shaker Funeral Home, 764 Farmington Ave., New Britain, CT. Burial will be private in Sacred Heart Cemetery, New Britain, CT. Relatives and friends may call at the Paul A. Shaker Funeral Home, Saturday from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. Directions to funeral home – I-84 east or west, exit 37 (Fienemann Rd) – right off exit – one mile down on right.
