Doris E. Adams, 61, of New Britain, CT passed away surrounded by her loved ones Thursday, July 20, 2017. Doris was born in Columbia, SC and was the daughter of the late Peter and Bessie (Bell) Adams. She worked as a licensed clinical social worker for twenty-two years for the Veterans Administration Hospital, Newington, CT where she later retired. Doris had a passion for helping people, a warm spirt, a motivator to believe in one’s self and held veterans dear to her heart.
Doris is survived by her daughter Tyshara Coggins of New Britain, CT, her three sisters Patricia Adams of Atlanta, GA, Peggy Adams of Columbia, SC, and Wanda Adams of New Haven, CT and a host nieces, nephews and friends. Doris was predeceased by her brother Ralph Adams.
Homegoing Celebration for Doris will be held Saturday, July 29, 2017 at 11 a.m. from the Paul A. Shaker Funeral Home, 764 Farmington Ave., New Britain, CT. Committal service and final resting place will be in Fairview Cemetery, 120 Smalley St., New Britain, CT. Relatives and friends may call at the Paul A.
