Condolence From: Jessica

Condolence: I was/am a close friend of Cory's and I have known him for around 20 years. I found out about his passing after I was wondering why I hadn't seen him around or heard from him. We met during a rough time in my life while I was living at a homeless shelter. We became friends and later lived in the same rest home. I would visit at his group home and hear him play guitar and hang out and often he made coffee and dinner for me. When he got an apartment, I was again made very welcome and I have nothing but happy memories of our many hugs, talks, listening to music and just driving around in my car. I wish I had a chance to see him just one more time for I didn't have a recent phone number or address. I miss him and my condolences and prayers go out to his family and all the lives he touched and he is greatly missed and I love him very much. He is a sweet angel playing his guitar for God. I hope that some solace can be found in the knowledge of a personal, close friend of his has found this chance to share how very special and important and how much he touched my life. He touched many lives. I wish I could have paid my respects, but I see everything was private. I am honoring his life and sharing here. Thank you, Cory, for taking me under your wing when you knew I was struggling and making me feel so welcome. I love you!

Condolence: My deep condolences to the Palin family:
Although, we have never met I have lost loved ones to the pain of death. And I would like to share what helped me during those most difficult times.
It wasn't just being around family & friends. But the hope & encouragement you get from the gift that the Most High God gave to each & everyone of us, yes that is His written word the Bible (Psalms 83:18 & 2Timothy 3:16). Please, notice how God's precious son Jesus viewed death in such a gentle way. At John 11:11-14 yes he viewed death as one sleeping. And God gives us the assurance that there will be a resurrection of loved ones from the sting of death (John 5:28, 29). And He even says where they are are & where they will be (Daniel 12:2 & Psalms 37:11). May you look forward to God's promises being fulfilled (Titus 1:2).

I hope these few Scriptures were of some comfort. Please feel free to contact me or visit jw.org for more words of encouragement. Our daughter fell asleep in death and recently my precious husband of 50 years fell asleep in death also. I truly understand.

May you find comfort in the promise that "... there is going to be a resurrection of both the righteous and the unrighteous" (Acts 24:15), and very soon "... no resident will say, 'I am sick'" (Isa. 33:24) because "... death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.”(Rev. 21:4)
