Obituary for Chester P. Lutynski

Chester P. Lutynski
Chester P. Lutynski, 80, of New Britain, CT passed away peacefully Wednesday, September 20, 2017 at home. Chester was a New Britain native, son of the late Polish immigrants Antoni and Hedwig (Andrukiewicz) Lutynski. He proudly served our country in the US Air Force, the Air Force Reserves and later, served eight years in the Army National Guard 169th Division. Chester was a graduate of Central Connecticut State University and worked as an engineer with Pratt & Whitney Air Craft, where he retired after thirty-nine years. He was a devoted father and husband and taught his children to live out their dreams and how to be independent. Chester enjoyed hiking and camping in the forest, and spending time in New Hampshire, but his passion was classical music, specifically the works of Ludwig Van Beethoven. He will be remembered for his dry sense of humor and his generous heart and will be dearly missed.

Chester is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Geraldine Lutynski of New Britain, CT, his son Anthony Lutynski and his wife Kathy of Southington, CT, his two daughters Pat Lutynski-Tangney and her husband John of Berkeley, CA, and Susann Heller of Old Lyme, CT, his four grandchildren Anthony, Lauren, Meabh and Niamh and several nieces and nephews.

Shaker Funeral Home, 764 Farmington Ave., New Britain, CT. Followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Jerome Church, 1010 Slater Rd., New Britain, CT. Burial with full military honors will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery, 662 Burritt St., New Britain, CT. The American flag will be presented to Mr. Lutynski’s wife, Geraldine.
