Obituary for John B. Melecsinsky

John B.  Melecsinsky
John B. Melecsinsky, 84, of New Britain, CT died Friday, October 6, 2017. John lived his whole life in CT and was the son of the late Mary Melecsinsky. He worked as a sales manager for Middle Atlantic Co., New Britain Hand Tools and Mazak. John served his country honorably in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was a member of Holy Cross Church, was active in New Britain city politics and was Clerk of the Court. John enjoyed fishing and hunting with his family.
John is survived by his loving wife – Gloria (Gajda) Melecsinsky, his son Paul Melecsinsky and his partner Jan Kneeland of Burlington, CT, his brother Michael Rayder and his wife Donna of Whittier, NC, his two sisters-in-law Gerry Palmer and Joan Gajda and her husband Ted all of New Britain, CT and several nieces and nephews including Carolyn Camp and her daughter Allison and his godson Stephen Rayder of Enfield, CT. John was predeceased by his brother Richard Rayder.
Funeral rites for John will be held Wednesday, October 11, 2017 at 8:30 a.m. with the procession departing at 9 a.m. from the Paul A. Shaker Funeral Home, 764 Farmington Ave., New Britain, CT., followed by a Liturgy of Christian burial at 10 a.m. at Holy Cross Church, Farmington Ave., New Britain, CT. Burial with full military honors rendered by the United States Army will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery, 662 Burritt St. New Britain, CT. The American flag will be presented to John’s wife, Gloria. Relatives and friends may call at the Paul A. Shaker Funeral Home, Tuesday from 4 p.m. – 7 p.m. Directions to funeral home – I-84 east or west - exit 37 (Fienemann Rd) right off exit – one mile down on right.
