Helen Louise (Whipple) Allen, 94, of New Britain, CT peacefully departed this life at 10:25 p.m. Wednesday, October 11, 2017, at Autumn Lake Health Care, New Britain, CT. Louise was born on March 6, 1923 in Twiggs County, GA, to the late George Whipple and Louisher (Anderson) Whipple.
Louise was predeceased by her husband Edward Allen, two brothers, Feldon Whipple and Johnny Blash, a brother in-law, Sam Ashley, a sister in-law, Lois Blash and three children, Kenneth Allen, Helen Allen and Annie J. (Allen) Edney.
Louise leaves to cherish her memories her beloved sister Maybelle Ashley of Jeffersonville, GA, six children Elizabeth Allen of New Britain, Annie and husband Johnnie Hill of New Britain, James Allen of Cochran, GA and Justine Allen of New Britain, Inez and the late Jimmy Brown of New Britain, Harold and wife Delores Allen of Hartford, Diane and husband William H. Seymour, Jr. of New Britain, her adopted daughter Darlene Ciccole of New Britain and a host of nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren and friends.
Mama will be truly missed, she lit up a room with her smile and laughter. She was a great wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend. She loved sitting in her favorite chair looking out the window or sitting in the garage watching the children play from the neighborhood and coming together for family gatherings reminiscing over stories of childhood memories of family and friends. We will forever cherish in our hearts the memories of our beloved matriarch Helen Louise Allen.
Homegoing Celebration for Louise will be held Friday, October 20, 2017 at 12:00 p.m. at Bethesda Apostolic Church, 249 Stanley Street, New Britain, CT. Committal service and final resting place will be in Fairview Cemetery, 120 Smalley Street, New Britain, CT.
