Joseph Thomas Yuniskis, Jr., 60, of New Britain, CT. died Wednesday, October 18, 2017 at home. Joseph was born in New Britain, CT on September 3,1957 and was the son of the late Joseph T. Yuniskis, Sr. and Valerie (Kardok) Yuniskis. He resided his entire life in New Britain, CT. Joe graduated from E.C Goodwin Technical High School and studied to become an electrician by trade as his Father did before him. He was a hands on electrician his entire life and enjoyed his work. Joe was a real handyman and had a talent for renovating, planning and reconstructing real estate. Joseph never had any children and passed away peacefully in his residence. Some fun facts about Joe was he really enjoyed the atmosphere of a casino. His favorite game to play was roulette and his favorite number was 16. At one point in his life, he enjoyed boating and taking sailing lessons. Joe was a generous and kind man who always enjoyed a hearty meal. He loved to eat lobster, clams, crabs, steak, and he enjoyed fine dining in general when he had the opportunity. Joe’s favorite T.V. show was the Big Bang Theory.
Joe leaves behind his only brother Robert Yuniskis and his wife Shani of Anaheim, CA, his nephew Timothy Yuniskis of Herndon, VA and his niece Lauren Yuniskis of Anaheim, CA. Joe will be truly missed by all that knew him. Furthermore, Joe really appreciated and was thankful for all of the special health care he was given. In particular, Joe wanted to acknowledge The Hartford Healthcare at Home Hospice and Maria, his favorite nurse's aide. Also, Joe wanted to thank Kim S., his speech therapist, Tom A., his physical therapist, and Felipe, his in home health care provider. Joe also wanted to thank his caring neighbors, Sonia and Eric, who never refused to help Joe no matter what hour of the day or night it was. Finally, a special thank you to Candy H., who stood by Joe's side every step of the way.
Funeral rites for Joe will be held Saturday, October 28, 2017 at 9:30 a.m. from the Paul A. Shaker Funeral Home, 764 Farmington Ave., New Britain, CT. Committal service and final resting place will be in Fairview Cemetery, 120 Smalley St., New Britain, CT. Relatives and friends may call at the Paul A. Shaker Funeral Home Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. Directions to funeral home – I-84 east or west, exit 37 (Fienemann Rd) – right off exit – one mile down on right.
