Jack Napoleon  Morris, Jr.
Jack Napoleon Morris, Jr., 75, of New Britain, CT entered into eternal rest Monday, January 8, 2018 at the Amberwoods of Farmington. Jack was born on April 4, 1942 in Lynchburg, VA and was the son of the late Jack N. Morris, Sr. and Outry (Panell) Morris. He graduated from Dunbar High School and enlisted in the U.S. Navy where he served his country honorably during the Vietnam War. Jack worked as an assembler and retired from General Motors after several years of dedicated service. Jack was a faithful member of Grace Church where he was also an honorary trustee and the golf team leader. He was vice president of the Stanley Senior Men’s Club.
Jack leaves to cherish his memories his beloved wife - Mrs. Eva Morris of New Britain, CT, his three sons Jack Napoleon Morris, III (Toni), and Jeffrey Morris all of Madison Heights, VA, and Wilbert Thomas (Karen) of Rustberg, VA, his three daughters – Debbie Morris-Tyndale (Travis) of Plainville, CT, Donna Morris-Smith (Ron) of Hanover, MD, and Airelle McCray of New Britain, CT, his ten grandchildren – LaDavis (Jess), Amelia Tyndale, Andre, Marcus, Christopher Cameron, Vincent Morris (Isabella), and Anitra, Hazim and Jamauil Thomas, Amir McCray, two godchildren – Philip Gibson, Kyla Tartt and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Homegoing Celebration for Jack will be held Saturday, January 13, 2018 at 11 a.m. at Spottswood A.M.E. Zion Church, 25 Crestwood Lane, New Britain, CT with the Rev. Thomas A. Mills, Jr., Pastor, presiding. Burial with full military honors rendered by the United States Navy will be in the Veterans Spousal Section of Fairview Cemetery, 120 Smalley St., New Britain, CT. The American flag will be presented to Mr. Morris’ wife, Eva. Relatives and friends may call at Spottswood A.M.E. Zion Church Saturday from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Professional Service of Comfort provided by the Paul A. Shaker Funeral Home, 764 Farmington Ave., New Britain, CT.
