Obituary for LesShawn M. Thompson

LesShawn M. Thompson of Plainville, CT passed away unexpectedly at the Hospital of Central CT @ New Britain General. LesShawn was born in Cleveland, Ohio to Leslie P. Thompson and LaTonya Brown Thompson. He was raised by his grandparents, Demelious and Velma Brown. LesShawn was a member of Faith Living Church in Plantsville, CT under the leadership of Pastor Ronald Thomas. He was very active in the community, serving as a volunteer for the homeless. LesShawn will be remembered for caring for others before himself. He was employed by O.G. Price Gregory Construction, Inc., as a construction engineer.
LesShawn is survived by his loving mother - LaTonya Brown Thompson and stepfather Alan Dorbuck of New Britain, CT, his ninety-seven year old grandmother – Velma Brown of Cleveland, Ohio, the love of his life Michelle Gross and her family, in which they had made wedding plans for August 12, 2018 at Tunxis Plantation in Farmington, CT, and the light of his life – sister LaSondra Thompson of New Britain, CT, his three brothers Jovan Norris of New London, CT, David Peters of Cleveland, Ohio and Rodney Williams of New Britain, CT, his two aunts, Gerri Brown Springer of New Britain, CT, Alemda Thompson Bowman of Cleveland, Ohio, four uncles – Edward Thompson, Wallace Brown and his wife Francine, Percy Brown and his wife Aleria, Otis Brown and his wife Beverly all of Cleveland, Ohio, two nephews – Christopher Porcher and Dorien Witchard of New Britain, CT, three nieces Nyjah Porcher of Miami, Florida, Saraya Michaud and Brianna of New Britain, CT and Neko the family pet, LesShawn was predeceased by his father Leslie Thompson, paternal grandparents Tom and Estee Thompson, maternal grandfather Demelious Brown.
Homegoing Celebration for LesShawn will be held Thursday, March 29, 2018 at 11 a.m. at Spottswood A.M.E. Zion Church, 25 Crestwood Lane, New Britain, CT. with the Rev. Dr. John W. Walker, Pastor, presiding. Relatives and friends may call at Spottswood A.M.E. Zion Church Thursday from 10 a.m to 11 a.m. Burial will be private in Cleveland, Ohio. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in his memory to St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, 147 West Main St., New Britain, CT. 06051 to assist the homeless population.
