Obituary for Bernadette L. Hudak (Cervone)

Bernadette L. Hudak, 73, of New Britain, CT died Friday, April 6, 2018 at the Hospital of Central CT @ New Britain General. Bernadette was born in New Britain, CT and was the daughter of the late Philip and Mary (Scarpa) Cervone. She worked for several years as a custodian for New Britain Public Schools. Bernadette was one funny lady who always told jokes and made everyone laugh. She always cared for her grandchildren like they were her own and lot and was the type of lady that would take the coat off her back for anyone. Bernadette was loving and caring always made sure everyone was fed and was a woman with a big warm heart. Her husband Wayne loved her very much. She loved her Italian food. Bernadette talked about her grandchildren all the time. She was deeply loved by everyone and will be truly missed. Throughout the years my grandma “Nana” has been a strong cancer survivor.

Bernadette is survived by her husband of fifty-three years Wayne Hudak, her daughter Melissa Hudak, her sister Anne Bellu all of New Britain, CT and her three grandchildren Savanna, Tyler and Brandon. Bernadette was predeceased by her son Marc Hudak.
Funeral rites for Bernadette will be held Thursday, April 12, 2018 with the procession departing at 9:15 a.m. from the Paul A. Shaker Funeral Home, 764 Farmington Ave., New Britain, CT followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Ann Church, 101 North St., New Britain, CT. Committal service and final resting place will be in St. Mary Cemetery, 1141 Stanley St., New Britain, CT. Relatives and friends may call at the Paul A. Shaker Funeral Home Thursday from 8:15 a.m. to 9:15 a.m. Directions to funeral home – I-84 east or west - exit 37 (Fienemann Rd) right off exit – one mile down on right.
