Florence (Lodzinski) Zaniewski, 84, of New Britain, CT passed away peacefully Wednesday, April 18, 2018 at Hartford Hospital. Florence was born in New Britain, CT and was the daughter of the late Joseph S. and Cecilia S. (Panek) Ludzinski. She was a life long resident of New Britain and graduate of New Britain High School. Florence was a member of Sacred Heart Church, New Britain and a longtime member of Sacred Heart Church Ladies Guild. She worked for many years at Peoples Savings Bank where she retired as Vice President of the mortgage department. Florence enjoyed her monthly luncheons with her friends and retirement group as well as hosting a Sunday lunch with her more immediate family. She was an avid fan of UCONN Women’s basketball and a longtime Red Sox fan. Florence enjoyed going to the casino and mall with her friend Nellie and her daughters Elaine and Janice.
Florence is survived by her two sons Richard Zaniewski and his wife Elaine of Rocky Hill, CT and Thomas Zaniewski and his wife Sheila of Wethersfield, CT, her four grandchildren Michael Zaniewski and his girlfriend Kristine of New Britain, CT, Diane Siegel and her husband Matthew of Wethersfield, CT, David Zaniewski and his wife Lexie of West Warwick, RI, Kevin Zaniewski and his girlfriend Rachel of Wethersfield, CT, and her great grandchild Owen Michael Siegel. She also leaves many nieces nephews and many close and dear friends. Florence was predeceased by her loving husband Peter Zaniewski, her brother Stanley (Parker) Lodzinski, her three sisters Sophie and her husband Zigmunt Spiewak, Helen and her husband Joseph Malinowski and Agnes and her husband Edward Kycia.
Funeral rites for Florence will be held Tuesday, April 24, 2018 at 8 a.m. with the procession departing at 8:30 a.m. from the Paul A. Shaker Funeral Home, 764 Farmington Ave., New Britain, CT., followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church, 158 Broad St., New Britain, CT. Committal service and final resting place will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery, 662 Burritt St., New Britain, CT. Relatives and friends may call at the Paul A.
