Marie “Terry” Calcinari, 84, of New Britain, CT., passed away in her home, cared for by her family, Wednesday, July 4, 2018. Marie was born in New Britain, CT. on March 19, 1934. She was the daughter of the late Arthur and Leone (Pelletier) Piquette. After raising her five children, she worked for many years as a nurse’s aide at New Britain General Hospital. She is survived by her loving husband and lifelong companion, Frederick Calcinari. They were married on April 17, 1952, and recently celebrated their 66th anniversary. Marie and Fred, along with their many friends, have enjoyed dancing together for decades, including square dancing, line dancing, and round dancing. Over the years they have traveled to Europe and to many destinations in America.

Marie’s five beloved children are Theresa Mazzarelli of Hopedale, MA., Deborah Friss and her husband Wayne Jacob of Waxhaw, N.C., Frederick Calcinari, Jr., and his wife Christine of Portsmouth, N.H., Thomas Calcinari and his wife Janet of Torrington, CT., and Michael Calcinari and his wife Cindi of Simsbury, CT. Her five dear grandchildren Dana, Steven and Erica Mazzarelli, and Robbie and Jianna Calcinari. Marie was the last of her siblings. Marie was predeceased by her four sisters Doris Kannenberg, Lucille Lopes, Jeannette Roy, and Irene Sunbury, and by her two brothers Emil and Joseph Piquette.

Funeral rites for Marie will be held Monday, July 9, 2018 at 10 a.m. from the Paul A. Shaker Funeral Home, 764 Farmington Ave., New Britain, CT. Committal service and final resting place will be in St Mary Cemetery, 1141 Stanley St, New Britain, CT. Relatives and friends may call at the Paul A.
