Obituary for Willie Trimble

Willie “Bill” Trimble, 75, of New Britain, CT entered into eternal rest Monday, October 15, 2018 at Trinitas Regional Medical Center, Elizabeth, NJ after a long Illness. Willie was born April 2, 1943 in Camp Hill. AL and was the son of the late Levi and Estelle (Hughley) Trimble. At the age of 14, he moved to New Britain and was adopted by his uncle the late Jeff Nunn and aunt Mattie Nunn. He went to local schools and graduated from New Britain High School class of 1962. He was inducted into U.S Army 1964-1966 served in Vietnam rank SP-4 infantry. On October 14. 1967 he married Jean (McCalop) Trimble. He was a faithful member of Second Baptist Church, New Britain, where he served as a trustee and was in the male chorus. Willie was a member of the The Pride of CT Elks Lodge #1437, I.B.P.O.E. Willie was an avid fan of the UConn women's basketball team.

Willie is survived by his son Jeffrey M Trimble and daughter Alicia Michele Trimble of New Britain, CT his brother Levi Trimble of New Britain, CT and sister Carrie Jane Russell of Los Angeles, CA. A niece whom he raised Genette Howard of Lagrange, GA. A Godson Henry Bordeaux Jr, Goddaughter Bridgette Bordeaux of New Britain, CT a dear friend Oscar Harris, his caretaker Yanira Lopez, Trina Vardanian and a host nieces, nephews and many wonderful friends. Thanks to the Hospital of Central CT Dialysis, ICU staff. Willie was predeceased by his brother Lotus Earl and his sisters, Willie Mae Blue, Essie Lee Johnson and Georgia Benson.

Homegoing Celebration for Willie will be held Saturday, October 20, 2018 at 11 a.m. from Second Baptist Church, 55 Chapman St., New Britain, CT with the Rev. Horace Blue, presiding. Burial with full military honors rendered by the United States Army will be in Fairview Cemetery, 120 Smalley St., New Britain, CT. The American flag will be presented to Mr. Trimble’s son, Jeffrey. Relatives and friends may call at Second Baptist Church, Saturday from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. The Pride of CT. Lodge of Elks #1437 will hold a ritual Saturday at 9:45 a.m. at the church. Service of Comfort and Compassion provided by the Paul A. Shaker Funeral Home, 764 Farmington Ave., New Britain, CT.
