Obituary for James Henry Conley Jr.

James Henry Conley Jr., 70, of New Britain, CT, passed away peacefully in his sleep Friday, January 4, 2019. Known to friends as Jim, he was born in 1948 to James Conley Sr., and Irene Gribben Conley as one of their six children. Jim served in the US Navy aboard the USS Enterprise in Alameda, CA and after an honorable discharge, became a member of the Labor’s Union for over 15 years where he was able to put his learned skills to use. In his spare time, Jim enjoyed golfing, reading, and the Red Sox, as well as anything involving US and world history. Jim is survived by his daughters, Alida Conley of Hamden, CT, and Samantha Anderson and her husband John of Wallingford, CT. In addition, he is survived by his sisters Kathy (Conley) Palys and husband Ed of Meriden, CT and Sindee (Conley) DiBenedetto and husband Michael of Apollo Beach, FL as well as many beloved nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to pay their last respects to the Conley family in honor of Jim at the Paul A. Shaker Funeral Home, 764 Farmington Ave, New Britain, CT Friday, January 11, 2019 from 3-5 pm. Military Honors for Mr. Conley will be accorded by the United States Navy at 4:45 p.m. at the funeral home. The American Flag will be presented to Mr. Conley’s daughter, Alida.
