Johnny Jenkins, Jr., 75, of New Britain, CT died Friday, January 11, 2019 at the Hospital of Central CT @ New Britain General. Johnny was born in Boligee, Alabama and was the son of the late Johnny, Sr. and Essie (Burton) Jenkins. He worked as a steel worker for Berlin Steel for many years.
Johnny is survived by his daughter Julie Monroe of Chapel Hill, NC, his beloved companion Darlene Rawlings of New Britain, CT., his sister Joyce Webster and her husband James of Decatur, AL, his three grandchildren Imani, Izarriah and Isaiah and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Johnny was predeceased by his brother Warren Jenkins.
Homegoing Celebration for Johnny will be held Thursday, January 17, 2019 at 11 a.m. from the Paul A. Shaker Funeral Home, 764 Farmington Ave., New Britain, CT. Committal service and final resting place will be in Fairview Cemetery, 120 Smalley St., New Britain, CT. Relatives and friends may call at the Paul A.
