Sheila Mae (Walker) Yopp, 55, lifelong resident of New Britain, CT passed away peacefully Tuesday, April 21, 2015 at home. Born in New Britain, CT on January 15, 1960 she was the daughter of the late Cora Lee Walker. She attended New Britain public schools as a young child and graduated from New Britain High School class of 1978. Sheila also attended the Sawyer School of Business for Secretarial work. She worked at Rich's Company of New Britain for many years, which she loved.
Sheila is survived by her three children, Sharena Yopp, Ka'Lisha Yopp and Tyshawn Yopp and his girlfriend Melody Cubano all of New Britain. Her three sisters Camille Samples and her husband Michael, Denise West and her husband Anthony of New Britain. June Williams of Palm Harbor, FL and her brother James Darryl Walker of Norwich; seven grandchildren Antanique Jordan, Darian Gomez, Daniel Muse, Kylee Muse, Mariah Yopp, Tyshawn Yopp all of New Britain and Jahkai Booker of Plano, Tx. She is predeceased by her sister Janice Davis, great grandmother Rosa Lee "Big Ma" Walker and grandfather Arthur Walker. She also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and extended grandchildren. She will be missed by all who knew her. Homegoing Celebration for Sheila will be held Tuesday, April 28, 2015 at 11 a.m. at St. James Missionary Baptist Church, 45 Daly Ave., New Britain, CT with the Rev. John W. Walker, Pastor, presiding. Committal service and final resting place will be in Fairview Cemetery, 120 Smalley St., New Britain, CT. Relatives and friends may call at St. James Missionary Baptist Church, Tuesday from 10 a.m.. – 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the George Bray Cancer Center at the Hospital of Central CT., 100 Grand St., New Britain, CT 06050 or to St. James Missionary Baptist Church.
