Amelia “Amy” Hills, 86, of New Britain, CT. died Friday September 4, 2015 at Autumn Lake Healthcare of New Britain, CT. Amelia was born in Hartford and was the daughter of the late Martin and Marcela (Duzak) Mazur. She graduated from Hartford High School and lived in New Britain the past fifty years. Amelia was a parishioner of St. Mary Church in New Britain, CT. and worked in the banking industry for over thirty years in Hartford and New Britain. She was a wonderful cook, baker and loved the beach, especially White Sands Beach, Old Lyme. Amelia, an avid reader also loved listening to Frank Sinatra’s music.
Amelia is survived by her four beloved children, her son Joseph Hills of New Britain, CT, her daughter Martha Jakubauskas and her husband John of Newington, CT, her son Jonathan Hills and his wife Noreen of Bristol, CT, her daughter Margaret Pronovost and her husband Larry of Middletown, CT, four grandchildren, Veronica Hills of Bristol, CT, Caleb Prue and his wife Jennifer of Colchester, CT, Rachel and Jill Prue both of Middletown, CT. Amelia was predeceased by her three brothers Frank, Julian and Walter Mazur and her four sisters Frances Luby, Stephanie Uniwiecz, Helen Johnson and Martha Cimino. Funeral Rites for Amelia will be held Wednesday September 9, 2015 with the procession departing at 9:15a.m. from the Paul A. Shaker Funeral Home, 764 Farmington Ave, New Britain, CT. followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10a.m. at St. Mary Church, 544 Main St. New Britain, CT. Committal Service and final resting place will be in West Meadow, 679 Willard Ave, Newington, CT. Relatives and friends may call at the Paul A.
