Homegoing Celebration Of Life for Agnes J. Johnson
Agnes Juanita Johnson, born in Vero Beach, Florida came to New Britain, CT in 1956. She was the daughter of the late Peter C. Jackson and Thelma Jackson-Jones of Florida. Agnes was married to the late Ira J. Johnson, Sr. She attended the New Britain Public School System. Agnes graduated from Morse School of Business and was employed by Northeast Utilities for several years as a Data Entry Clerk. Agnes was a member of McCullough Temple CME Church, now known as Grace CME Church. She also had a love for taking care of children after school. Agnes was known as a great cook and was often asked to make her famous potato salad at family gatherings. Agnes was affectionately known as “Blue”, which was her favorite color.
Agnes is survived by her one daughter, Aisha J. Brown (Carl) of Atlanta, GA. Three sons, David W. Jackson (Joanne) of San Antonio, TX, Ira J. Johnson III of Atlanta, GA and Michael J. Johnson of Bartow, FL. Four brothers, Peter C. Jackson, Jr. (Flossie) of Vero Beach, FL, Ferris C. Jackson, Marvin L. Jones and John K. Jones of New Britain, CT. Two sisters, Deloris Miller and Debra Hester (Rick) of Vero Beach, FL. Nine grandchildren, Shanel, Michael, Dessiny and Ashley Johnson, David, Alexis and Jamal Jackson, Amillis Decosta and Tyler Ferguson and one great grandchild, Kayanna Johnson. Along with a host of great nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, she also leaves a devoted friend, Irma Mendes of Houston, TX. Agnes was predeceased by two sisters, Sylvia Jackson and Wanda Clinkscale.
