George Lee Gray, 82, of Chesapeake, VA., entered this world on August 8, 1933 and returned to his eternal home in Heaven, on Tuesday, July 19, 2016. Born and raised in LaGrange, GA, George made his life in New Britain, CT., and was predeceased by his parents George and Ethel (McClendon) Gray, his beloved wife Mattie Gray, his brother Jerry Gray, and sister Mary Zackery. George leaves behind his legacy in the form of his children Gary Gray (Denise), Calvin Gray, his grandchild, Ravyn Gray, and his great grandchild, Jayden Gray. George also leaves behind his sisters Mildred Williams and Yvonne Dickerson and his brothers John Gray, Melvin Gray, and Marvin Gray, along with a host of nieces and nephews.
Homegoing Celebration for Mr. Gray will be held Tuesday, July 26, 2016 at 11 a.m. at St. James Missionary Baptist Church, 45 Daly Ave., New Britain, CT with the Rev. John W. Walker, Pastor, presiding. Committal service and final resting place will be in Fairview Cemetery, 120 Smalley St., New Britain, CT.
