Emmett J. Ellison, 93, of New Britain, CT. died Thursday, October 27, 2016 at Cessana Care, New Britain. Emmett was born in Jackson County, Alabama and was the son of the late Elige and Eula (Allison) Ellison.
Emmett is survived by his three sons Eddie Ellison (Ella) of Richmond, VA., John Ellison of Middletown, CT., and Luther Ellison (Marie) of New Britain, CT., his two daughters Eula Gray and Mary Strickland both of New Britain, CT., his sister Rev. Nannie Lampkin of New Britain, CT., and his brother William Ellison of Bristol, CT. his fifteen grandchildren, thirty-one great grandchildren and 10 great-great grandchildren along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Emmett was predeceased by his wife Mildred Louise Ellison, his daughter Virginia Kline, his brother Eddie Ellison and his three sisters, Ida Mae Coffee, Jannie Scott and Anna Edwards.
Homegoing Celebration for Emmett will be held Friday, November 4, 2016 at 11 a.m. at Second Baptist Church, 55 Chapman St., New Britain, CT. with Rev. Thomas A. Mills, Jr., Pastor, presiding. Committal service and final resting place will be in Fairview Cemetery, 120 Smalley St., New Britain, CT.
