It is with our deepest sadness we announce the passing of Stanley Zaniewski, 87, Thursday, June 1, 2017. Son of the late Waleryan and Rozalia (Dobrowolski) Zaniewski and loving husband of Helen (Skoniecni) Zaniewski. An amazing dad to his three children, Kathy, Tom and Mark. A very caring and loving grandfather to Jennifer, Melissa and Daniel. Godfather to his niece Sandy Prus and nephews, Jimmy and Kenny Zaniewski. He leaves his many nieces, nephews and friends who loved him so dearly.
Stanley was a lifelong resident of New Britain and parishioner of New Britain Holy Cross Church, where he was a collector for many years. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean war. He worked for Stanley Tools for forty-three years before retiring in 1991. His passion was the work he did in his vegetable garden for so many years. Stanley really enjoyed golfing with his son Mark and niece and nephew Sandy and Al for the last nine years.
He was always there for his grandchildren who he loved so very much. Part of his daily routine was watching mass on TV. He was married to his love of his life Helen for sixty-one years. Stanley was predeceased by his brothers Vinnie, John, Peter, Joe, Frank, Leo, Alex and sister Mary Prus.You will be in our thoughts everyday and we all love you Dad, Grandpa and Twit forever and ever. You will be missed more than you'll ever know!
Funeral rites for Stanley will be held Wednesday, June 7, 2017 with the procession departing at 9:15 a.m. from the Paul A. Shaker Funeral Home, 764 Farmington Ave., New Britain, CT. followed by a Liturgy of Christian burial at 10 a.m. at Holy Cross Church, Farmington Ave., New Britain, CT. Burial with full military honors rendered by the United States Army will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery, 662 Burritt St., New Britain, CT. The American flag will be presented to Stanley’s wife Helen. Relatives and friends may call at the Paul A. Shaker Funeral Home Wednesday from 8:15 a.m. to 9:15 a.m. Directions to funeral home – I-84 east or west – exit 37 (Fienemann Rd) right off exit – one mile down on right.
