Obituary for Zacharias L. Hatzisavvas

Zacharias L.  Hatzisavvas
Zacharias Lazaros Hatzisavvas, 22, of New Britain, CT Zacharias was born in New Britain, CT and was the son of Lazaros and Wedad (Yousef) Hatzisavvas, brother of Victoria Hatzisavvas, and boyfriend of Madelin (Maddie) Gomez. Our Angel crossed over to the other side on Thursday, July 6, three days after his 22nd birthday. He was welcomed into Heaven by his paternal Grandfather Dimitrios Hatzisavvas, Maternal Grandparents Najah and Victoria Yousef (Baba), his Aunt Liliana Yousef (Fuentes), his Uncle Waad Yousef, and his Theo Mavroudis Vassilliou, and his cousin Wahied Jerjies Junior. A 2013 graduate of Classical Magnet High school, where he was on the basketball team and met his hero, Coach Tucker. He previously attended CCSU, and was currently attending Tunxis, while working at Plan B Burger Bar, in West Hartford. He enjoyed basketball, swimming, reading, and hanging out with the abundance of friends he made over the years. Zach had a smile that filled the room with joy, a goofy laugh that was extremely contagious, and a caring heart filled with love for those around him. He left behind his beloved dog and best friend Max, and he is survived by six Aunts, seven uncles, twenty-five first cousins, a very large extended family, Assyrian and Greek community, friends and Plan B work family.
Funeral rites for Zacharias will be held Tuesday, July 11, 2017 at 11 a.m. at St. Thomas Assyrian Church of the East, 120 Cabot St., New Britain, CT. Committal place and final resting place will be in St. Thomas Assyrian Cemetery, Barbour Rd., New Britain, CT. Relatives and friends may call at the Paul A. Shaker Funeral Home, 764 Farmington Ave., New Britain, CT. Monday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Directions to funeral home – I-84 east or west – exit 37, (Fienemann Rd) – right off exit – one mile down on right.
