Pura E. Ciscar, 93, of New Britain, CT died Friday, July 21, 2017 at the Hospital of Central CT @ New Britain General. Pura was born in Bellreguart, Spain and was the daughter of the late Miguel and Pura Escriva. She retired from Stanley Tools in 1980 after 20 years of loyal sevice. Pura was a member of St Mary Church in New Britain. She enjoyed shopping, cooking and spending quality time with her family.
Pura is survived by her daughter Shirley Repass and her husband Don of New Britain whom she lived with; her grandsons, Michael E Ciscar and his wife Edesa, of Berlin, CT; and Michael J Ciscar Jr and his wife Emily of New Britian, CT; two great granddaughters, Sarah and Arbella Ciscar, and one great grandson, Oliver Ciscar. Her sister who was not only her sister but her best friend, Dolores Bonet of Enfield, CT and a sister in law Lolita Ciscar of Newington, CT. and several nieces and nephews whom she considered as her own. Pura was predeceased by her husband Miguel Ciscar, her son Michael J Ciscar, her brother and sister in law Miguel and Francisca Escriva, her brother in law Frank Bonet and sister in law Maria Blanco.The family would like to thank the nursing staff, and Hospice for the care and attention they gave not only Pura, but to the family at our time of need. They made it comfortable for all of us in our time of need.
Funeral rites for Pura will be held Thursday, July 27, 2017 at 8:30 a.m. with the procession departing at 9 a.m. from the Paul A. Shaker Funeral Home, 764 Farmington Ave., New Britain, CT followed by a Liturgy of Christian burial at 10 a.m. at St. Mary Church, 544 Main St., New Britain, CT. Cremation will follow the funeral mass. Private entombment of Mrs. Ciscar’s urn will be in St. Mary’s Garden Mausoleum, New Britain, CT. Relatives and friends may call at the Paul A. Shaker Funeral Home Wednesday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Directions to funeral home – I-84 east or west, exit 37, (Fienemann Rd) right off exit – one mile down on right.
