Carroll “Mushka” Charette, 73, of Southington, CT died Tuesday, February 13, 2018 at the Hospital of Central CT @ New Britain General. Carroll was born in Fort Kent, ME and was the son of the late Willard and Amanda (Theriault) Charette. He owned Charette Concrete and was a proud husband, father and grandfather. Carroll was an avid race car driver/owner/supporter. He built his first home in order to provide for his family, by himself with his own hands after working all day. Carroll was funny, witty, loyal and had common sense and was always willing to help out. He was a member of Our Lady of Mercy Church, Plainville.
Carroll is survived by his beloved wife – Mary Ann Charette of Southington, CT, his five sons – Carl Charette and his wife Jacqueline of Bristol, CT, Kenny Charette also of Bristol, CT, David Charette of Aurora, CO, Dennis Charette and his wife Lisa of Southington, CT and Spencer Charette of Meriden, CT, his four sisters – Jan Bourgoin of Bloomfield, CT, Lorraine Fortin and her husband Jimmy of Fort Kent, ME, Rowena Bernier and her husband Stewart of Simsbury, CT and Glenda Johnston and her husband Rick of Ledyard, CT, his eight grandchildren – Ashley, Alexis, Adelyn, Paige, Haley, Christine, Christopher and Victoria, his sister-in-law Rena Charette of Farmington, CT, several cousins, nieces and nephews. Carroll was predeceased by his four brothers – Edmund Charette, Donald Charette, Lincoln Charette and Harold Charette, his sister-in-law Louisette Charette and his brother-in-law Ray Bourgoin.
A Celebration of Carroll’s life will be held Friday, February 23, 2018 at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Mercy Church, 94 Broad St., Plainville, CT. Committal service and final resting place will be in Immaculate Conception Cemetery, South End Rd., Plantsville, CT. Relatives and friends may call at Our Lady of Mercy Church Friday from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Connecticut Humane Society, 701 Russell Rd., Newington, CT. 06111.
