Obituary for Nicholas C. Lombardi, Sr.

Nicholas C.  Lombardi, Sr.
Nicholas C. Lombardi, Sr. 81, of Plainville, CT formerly of New Britain, CT passed away Tuesday, April 17, 2018 at home. Nicholas was born in Hartford, CT and was the son of the late Dominic and Mary (Ricci) Lombardi. He worked for many years at family owned Lombardi's Auto Body in West Hartford and owned and operated Nick's Auto Body from 1970-1980 and was proud to have serviced the New Britain community and was a key resource in towing many autos in the Blizzard of 1978. Nick was a championship bowler for Newington Memorial for many years. His children have many happy memories of family vacations that included Block Island, Gettysburg and spending many weeks and weekends with family down Sound View.

Nicholas is survived by his four sons; Nicholas Jr., Christopher and his wife Cheryl, Steven and Gary, his loving grandchildren, Christopher, Colin, Nicholas and Matthew, his two sisters Lucy Vallera (Ralph), Barbara Morey, his brother Robert Lombardi and many nieces and nephews. Nick was predeceased by his loving wife Pauline S. (Mangiafico) Lombardi, his two sisters Mary Winn, Katherine Lombardi and his four brothers Dominic, Frank, Rocco, Anthony.

A Celebration of Nicholas’ life will be held Sunday, April 22, 2018 at 2.p.m. at the Paul A. Shaker Funeral Home, 764 Farmington Ave., New Britain, CT. Burial will be private. Relatives and friends may call at the Paul A. Shaker Funeral Home Sunday from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Directions to funeral home – I-84 east or west, exit 37 (Fienemann Rd) right off exit – one mile down on right.
