Elizabeth Louise (Peterson) Perrotta, 86, originally of New Britain, CT and resident of Bristol, CT passed peacefully at home Monday, August 6, 2018. Betty, as she was fondly called, was the loving wife of the late Joseph John Perrotta. She was born in New Britain, CT May 9, 1932 and was the daughter of the late William "Tweet" Peterson and Ruth (McAloon) Farina. Betty and Joe moved to Bristol, CT having a wonderful life together. Betty was an elementary school teacher in the Bristol School System. She received a 6th Year Degree in Supervision from UCONN & Bachelor & Master Degrees in Education from CCSU. Upon retirement, she traveled, enjoyed the companionship of many friends, the sunshine of Florida and spent many days with her loving family. Betty bestowed upon her daughters and her family her strength, determination, the importance of family, traditions, enjoying all the blessings and moments of life.
Betty is survived by her five daughters - Ruth Busse and her husband David, Elizabeth Mahony and her husband Randall, Joanne Papapietro and her husband Thomas, Mary Nadeau and her husband Douglas, Judith Cyr and her husband Gregory, her brother Dr. John Farina, Kathleen Griffin a special friend of the family, as well as a brother-in-law Angelo Ciammella, her eight grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and many loving cousins, nieces, nephews and friends who will miss her presence.
A Celebration of Betty’s life will be held Friday, August 17, 2018 at 1 p.m. at the Paul A. Shaker Funeral Home, 764 Farmington Ave., New Britain, CT. Committal service and final resting place will be in St. Mary Cemetery, 1141 Stanley St., New Britain, CT. Relatives and friends may call at the Paul A. Shaker Funeral Home, Friday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Directions to funeral home - I-84 east or west- exit 37(Fienemann Rd.) - right off exit - one mile down on right.
