Condolence From: Deloes Atwater-Small
Condolence: My prayers are with you during this difficult time. I have many memories of Mr. Carter. He was a friend of my father Fennell Atwater for as long as I can remember. I would see him in church and he always had a smile on his face. He is now around the thron of our heavenly Father rejoicing. R.I.P. Mr. Carter.

Condolence From: Rev. Regina Tanksley-Harris
Condolence: To my Carter Family:We lived near each other on Hartford Ave; then later my mom & I rented your upstairs apt. on Glen St. We were the Augusta crew holding it down on Glen St. Last week I passed by Blount Ave just off Boy Scout Rd. & I thought on Mr. Carter, how he would come to Augusta & visit his sister. Later that day I found out he had passed. I remember one year when he came to Augusta he & my family had a chance to spend the day together. He was so comical. Mr. Phinizy & Mrs. Lula, his Aunt Mamie, my mother Ms. Hattie have gone on now. But they left us with some wonderful memories. May God continue to bless & bring comfort to your minds & hearts Love you all.

My heart broke for all of you when I saw this today. Immediately I went back to a place that is very special in my heart. Your Dad was a wonderful man. The memories I have of him will always be with me. He is with your Mom and my parents, they are smiling down on all us kids or yelling at us, lol. You are all in our thoughts and prayers.

Condolence From: Pastor Alfred L. Smith Jr.
Condolence: Much Love and Prayer for the Carter Families Strength in the Lord following the death of Phinizy Carter.
I appreciated his kind humor and words of support as we talked over the years while I was Pastor at St James.
My talks with him would extend past the Church into the community where I would speak with him while on his post as a crossing guard protecting the lives of kids and to New Britain High School every summer where I would see him mostly outside enjoying sun and food at the Osgood Street basketball tournament.
He will be greatly missed and we pray the God of all comfort and strength will help his family through their bereavement.
In Service of the King
Rev Alfred Lee Smith Jr. Sr Pastor Macedonia Baptist Church Ansonia CT.

Condolence From: Patrick and Yolanda Barnwell
Condolence: Barbara, Diane, Van, Jerry,
Yolanda and I are very sorry for your loss. We pray for your peace. Uncle C will be missed..., although we did not see him as often as we would have liked the times that we did share will always be special. On a more personal note, I will miss picking up pears so that mama could make pear preserves to send him because he requested some. I will also miss driving him, during his visits, to the department store in Augusta that he loved, Reuben's, to purchase some of his favorite clothing items, hats and Stacey Adam shoes..., in an assortment of color. Always the sport, one of my fondest memories was during a visit to our church in Augusta, Gardner Grove Baptist Church, he wore the sharpest white suit as only Phinizy Carter could. It is really not about the apparel that he wore but more so that calm Carter character and demeanor that I will miss the most. I am deeply saddened. We will see you on Thursday.
Very Respectfully, you cousin,
Patrick Barnwell
